Such a contraption need not plug into the MMC socket,
because there is a connector on GoMMC that carries all
the signals of the MMC socket. I put it there to make
exactly what you suggest possible. But nobody has made
a cable for it yet. It's also unsure what effect such
a cable will have on signal integrity.

You don't need to keep unscrewing the case. Just leave
it unscrewed.
