Well, after getting a cable together to link the Beeb to the tape (thanks,
those pins were the right ones - it works fine) I re-typed in the formatting
program (and removed the case from the drive to see what it did). I made a
few goofs but, after checking it and saving it I ran it and it says "stop at
line 360".
That means that osblock?12 is not 0 as it should be (in fact it is 18).
I just can't find where my error is despite spending several hours on it. I
have put a trace on and it runs through to line 180 (PROCsector), goes back
to line 190 (PROCseek) until it gets to line 360 of that proc and the error
comes up.
I just can't see what I have done but it must be staring me in the face and
I am hoping someone on the list is having a good laugh at me for missing out
the "whatever" on line thingummy.
I know it's cheeky of me to ask but I need to get things up and running
before I get delve deeper into the wonders of the Beeb.
Thanks for bearing with me on this.
