Yes, the Master Compact does have a CODE key in place of the "@" key.
To elaborate on "BB", this is short for Baby B, the Acorn codename for
Master Compact, the "B" referring to Project B, the development name for
the Master Series and "baby" presumably being the name given to the
cut-down version which became the Compact.
The name Baby B turns up in various places, such as on the Compact PCB
(although it doesn't appear on mine) and also on the side of the Compact
or FileStore PSU:

Aha, yep... I was looking for something with 'code' written on it (as
per the maked-up manual)! :-)
Hmm, not that exciting then, but still an interesting bit of Acornia I
suppose...
