~£60 is none too cheap for what it does.  Any tube rated 'UV-C' or
'germicidal' will provide a suitable wavelength.  I found a 4 watt pond
steriliser last year for £20, which provides a good enclosure. 
Replacement tubes can be had at aquarium stores for £7 upwards.

Of course, if the light kills germs it can just as easily damage the
cells of the skin or eyes, also bare electrics and any ozone generated
can present a hazard so don't mess around if you don't know what you're
doing.

Some sources that don't work: blacklights, banknote inspectors, tanning
lamps, insect killers, PCB contact exposure units (these use coated
tubes.)
