A phase tripler will not increase the available power, it will merely
distribute the available power (minus overheads) over three phases.
There is a hint in the "over the limit with domestic mains", perhaps the
quest is for more power.
A basic three phase installation I had installed a few years ago was 200A x
3, it's main recipient is a three phase motor, but the single phases can be
routed to different circuits for single phase operation as per usual. The
total sustained power is rated at 140kW - probably not enough to run Blue
Gene...
Mind you, at over 20kW - must be a fun electricity bill...
