Of course.

'Outside GoMMC disc' only means that somehow the current
operation (read or write) has ended up reading/writing
outside the disc's space. This can't really happen in
normal practice with normal disc images, since it's
ADFS that determines where the disc is accessed.

I don't have a 2GB card at hand, but I can remember testing
a 512 MB ADFS harddisc image on a 1GB card and it was fine
read/write. The problem may have something to do with the
fact that your card is 2GB but I don't think so. You should
also have the CPLD upgraded to rule out possible slight
instabilities from causing the problem (although it would
be unlikely to cause this one).
