One of our customers had a habit of calling machines after the person 
using it.  Unfortunately, with the high turnover of staff they had, 
this worked for all of about five minutes.

I remember trying to track down a (windows) shared printer once .. 
share name was something along the lines of  "sams printer" on a 
machine named "veronica" which turned out to be on the desk of an 
person named "alex"..

I once resorted to sending a print job to a shared printer on a 
machine I was trying to locate, asking whomever found it to phone me ...
