I can confirm that, as the cable I have here is exactly that, bought in 1984
together with my first Beep and printer!
Do note that next to ACK is the BUSY signal (as you also has drawn), which
cannot be used by the Beeb. It's perhaps worth checking the printer manual
and see if either of them is selectable by a DIP switch (in the printer).
Though mostly it is not, and both of them are always in use.
The point is to make sure the printer is using the ACK signal.
Secondly, the MOS should be told of the parralel printer by *FX5,1 - although
this is the default - so that both printer buffer handling and handshaking
with printer are ok too.
