Thanks for the reply, Joel.

I think if you were to reinstate the \pool directory (which was
home to the Micro User, Beebug & Acorn User coverdiscs) plus all
the manuals, I think that would be sufficient for now.
Having said that, I'd still like to see the old site/layout
archived online somewhere, even when the new site is available
(this would purely be for nostalgic reasons!)

Ooh, you're migrating to a CMS? You're not using JOOMLA are you?
We're currently in the process of setting up the bbcmicro.com
domain as a news/RSS portal using JOOMLA. The intention is to hand
out news-posting accounts to emulator authors and maintainers of
other Acorn utilities and websites.
The next step would be to migrate Stairway To Hell, Acorn
Preservation, Acorn Electron World and the other sites we host to
the CMS [subject to obtaining buy-in of all concerned].
This would allow newsitems and other content to be automatically
shared/displayed across the various sites. (At present, the
process for posting news goes something like this: 1. emulator
author updates their homepage 2. emulator author copy/pastes the
info onto the STH forum 3. I copy/paste the info onto the STH News
page. So it's a tad long-winded, and means that by the time I get
round to updating the STH News page, the news may no longer be
'new'!;) )
Anyway, if we're both using the same CMS suite, perhaps it would
be possible to have 8bs.com site updates automatically displayed
on bbcmicro.com?!? What do you think? (though I presume the fact
the sites are on different servers could be a showstopper ...).
Btw, if Mark User is reading, can you get in touch with me re: an
offer of web hosting? I did mail you about this a couple of months
ago, but the mails bounced (mailbox full).
