Subject: [OT] Where's the love?

OK, where's the community spirit gone?!

I couldn't believe some of the mails that came through recently (ignoring
the obvious pun about the spam issue) ...

Spam - it happens. Short of disconnecting from the internet, you can't
avoid it. Once you've compiled the evidence, report the problem to the
appropriate system administrator, invest some time in setting up a decent
spam filter for your mail account and move on ...

BBC Micro vs RISC OS - OK, so the list is intended primarily for BBC
Micro-related material but, have a heart, there is obviously a crossover
with RISC-related material. Is it that onerous to ignore anything that
comes through which mentions RISC OS? In fact, would it help if we asked
for people to post [RISCOS] or [ATOM] in the subject so they can be
filtered? I don't own an Arc, but I'm not adverse to the occasional dip
into RISC (or Atom) territory ...

Distribution of large files, such as videos - if someone has gone to the
trouble of sharing something online, one should be grateful for access to it
any form. As the old saying goes - the man who enjoys a free lunch, should
not complain about the chef. Constructive feedback for future releases I'm
sure would be more than welcome but as long as you can get to it, surely
it's your own responsibility to convert it into the best format for
yourself?

We've had one person who's stated they're off already, which seems like a
Bad Thing ...

C'mon everyone ... let's buddy up and focus our combined chi where it's
really needed - [LEFT BLANK AS AN EXERCISE FOR THE READER TO INSERT THEIR
OWN HUMOUROUS SUGGESTION].

*GROUP HUG* ...

Sam.
