Yes indeed, and calling people 'leeches' needs to end too. Some of us on
this list (quite a high proportion I imagine) aren't technical wizards with
the beeb, but are returning users after a period of absence (I speak for
myself here). As a newbie I'm deeply thankful and grateful for any
information or assistance; I hold this mailing list in very high regard and
I've always been treated with respect. I think it's very important this
continues by welcoming those who aren't quite BBC savvy rather than alienate
them.

Anybody showing an interest in BBC micros should be encouraged if we want to
keep the community alive, although I appreciate that it can become annoying
if the same questions are being asked time and time again. The establishment
of a FAQ or concise troubleshooting page would be incredibly helpful; I know
some web pages have these already.

Has anybody considered a BBC Mailing list meet-up, or social gathering?
Seems quite a popular thing to do in some lists....
