Subject: Archiving Atom tapes...
Polling list wisdom again! Has anyone here archived Atom audio tape data
before via a PC soundcard? If so, any wisdom to offer in terms of what
sampling rate to use or other filter settings that work best (I can always
sample via a graphic equaliser if needs be to boost certain ranges)
I've got a box of tapes here with Atom data on (a mixture of 1200 and 300
baud), and it'd be nice to archive them if I can...
Quick list in case it's of interest:
Forth (Acornsoft)
Maths Pack 2 (Acornsoft)
3D Plot
BBC BASIC 6
Fall of Rome
Fall of Rome 2
Space Adventure
Write You own Adventure (Hopesoft)
Wireframe / Con4 (no idea!)
Galaxians
Shootout
Hyperfire
Breakout
Swarm
Cylon
3D Asteroids
747 Flight
Connect Four
Kingdoms
War
Beat the Dot
Reversal
Reaction
Music
Beeb Rom 1
Air Attack
Stargate
Pinball
Compiler (for what, I don't know!)
Oxygene
No idea if the tapes still work (I'd rather work on the principle that I'll
get one shot at reading the data, and archive them first before trying to make
them actually do something :)
Contents are probably far less exciting than the titles would have you believe ;)
cheers
Jules
