Subject: BBC compatible dot matrix printer with 2 ribbons

This topic has brought back a lot of memories of my old daisy-wheel
printer (can't remember the make or model unfortunately) of 15 years
or so ago which did sterling work printing out reams of my GSCE coursework
all done on Inter-Word. The text print quality was fantastic but it was
fairly slow and very noisy. I used to have Inter-Word set to pause
after every page which very helpfully issues a VDU 7 bleep when it's
time to change the paper, so I could have the printer running upstairs
with the door shut and a speaker attached to my BBC Master via the
audio out socket placed on the landing at the top of the stairs. I
could hear the bleep when it was time to come back to change the
paper without having to listen to the printer clattering away for 5
minutes per page!

Best wishes,

Ian

Not NLQ - it is "true" Letter Quality (24-pin), not Near Letter
Quality (9-pin, two-pass).
