This is what scan doublers do. I don't think there's any way to do this with
the stuff that's already inside the Beeb, because it requires hardware to
buffer scan lines, create new sync signals, etc. It might be possible to fit
a scan doubler inside the case.  An external one makes more sense to me,
where it can be moved to different machines.

(Again, I'm no expert on this either, anybody please correct me if I'm
wrong).
