I spoke to the owner of this Oric. Back when he was a kid this Oric was 
built into some ort of furniture which made it just about impossible to remove
the power connector or switch it off at the plug as the wires went out the
behind this furniture to a inaccessible socket. So his dad fitted an off
switch with a power light.
