Try holding down shift when powered on so that the boot sequence does not 
run. If the delay is still there, it means it's something built into the 
machine or OS that's causing it. Are you using the UniBoot stucture? Also,
there can be a pause if the CDROM filing system (CDFS) has been loaded but
there is no CDROM attached to the machine.
