Can you explain this in "novice" language please??..what would i need to  try 
fix this.
The BBC was running at the time when i heard a clicking noise from the  
machine and thick black smoke poured out of the box. I presumed it was a lost  
cause as i have no real 8bit skills, only recently returning to it after
a  25year 
break.
