Subject: A quick question about EPROM programming

I've seen that and I'll be getting some from him. What I mean is, I'd like 
a couple of brand new ones for testing. You can't be 100% certain that used 
parts haven't been subjected to treatment that affects their reliability
or performance, so using new ones (even if they are NOS) takes one variable
away. 27512s can still be bought from your favourite component supplier.

It's also helps with my understanding of how these parts work ;)

Really? Perhaps it depends how much you like to pay, but there is a UK 
seller on eBay selling second hand 27128 EPROMs at ?1.50 each (currently 
?1.20 as he has a sale). I've bought from him and he's reliable beyond 
belief, even supplying free extra items due to me being uncertain about 
something. Of course it requires you to have an EPROM eraser or at least a 
UV light but that is always handy to have if you're going to program those 
chips.
