For what it is worth, I've managed to load (small) files from my el-cheapo
MP3 player into my BBC Micro. Actually the software I transferred was
*FORM40 or so, since I lacked an OS floppy disk as well as other methods to
transfer software. How ironic to use a MP3 player connected to the tape port
to transfer a small program to format floppy disks...
I've tried a couple more vintage computers, and so far I must say the BBC
was the easiest to get going on so your mileage may vary a lot. Perhaps the
iPod is too advanced to work like a filing device, automated equalizers,
bass boost and so on.
