Subject: faulty floppy drives

The teac is a 5.25" drive so ist it possible to play with the jumers for
7271 compaqtibility? If so, how?

thats what I thought and used a tester to check for continuity between the
pins and the connections on the PCB so I don't think its a dried joint etc.
Is it still not possible, from the info, that the capacitor is faulty?

If your 110% sure then i'll have another go.
