One thought on reading this (and having a look at the ROM contents) - is

you selected the original HI-BASIC 3 (that came with the external 6502), 
rather than the
updated HI-BASIC 4 that came with the Master Turbo?
The latter is compatible with the old 6502 external 2nd processor, but adds 
support for
the Master RTC, and re-codes some of the maths routines to make them faster.

Is there any update from WDC on when you are likely to get the CPUs to allow 
you to
start shipping the boards?
