I'll take it that this would be a regular vanilla scsi i/f that doomless
people like myself could use for - ooh let's say - a harddisk?

AAMOI - wouldn't the cpld way cost more than the discrete logic approach?
I'm sure there'd be plenty of offers of help but I'd be happy to help out
with stuffing boards/general soldering.
