I now charge two flat rates on all items (depending on volume and size),
which covers my postage and packing costs, plus a little profit, for this,
things are sent Recorded Delivery or Courier with tracking (mostly courier,
its' easier for me to have courier collect than travel and queue at post
office, and I think ?6.95 is a bargain for courier delivery).
All items are listed at start 99p, I accept PayPal, Cheques, Postal Orders
(but most pay with Paypal these days). I don't charge paypal fees.
I don't offer collection anymore, (some items, heavy 20kg+, I may), but
everyone wants to collect and drive 300 miles for 99p!
I sometimes lose on an item, I sometimes gain. But overall (average) there's
enough profit at the end of the year for a pint of beer or two! and
after-all, all this stuff would normally end up in the skip, and it hasn't
cost me ?25 for the local council to collect!
and all my terms are stated in my terms and conditions, there's no debate
over it.
