Subject: 32016 2nd Processor PSU smoking...

Hi,

You can tell the seasons with a prehistoric device, e.g. Stonehenge - or -
you could use a modern device, e.g. Beeb stuff which just happens to start
smoking when it thinks there is a heatwave in the offing ;)

Like this afternoon, during a clear-up of Beeb stuff I thought I'd see if
the 32016 was working...

The X2 filter cap went pop, smoke wafted from every orifice.

I never thought the 32016 had a switch mode PSU. The trouble is I've got to
find an X2 that will fit. It needs the same one as the Beeb, but, the 32016
doesn't have the two convenient, extra, PCB holes to take the smaller pitch
X2s that I've got (for when the other Beebs/Masters go pop)

I'll see if I can find something from Farnell and post the part number if I
can find something. Otherwise, I'll have to move the live wire to the old
pad of the filter and put the filter across the remaining holes - that, by
luck, is the exact lead pitch for the X2s I've already got.

Cheers

Dave
