it's for the model B.

The Master and the Compact have the 1770 chip at a different memory
location to the model B, so your Watford DDFS rom won't work.

Yes, that's the best way.  I can't remember if the Compact puts the disc
controller at yet another different location but am sure someone on the
list will know.
