I went to an Acorn Computer show in the Horticultural halls in London back 
in the mid 80s as a kid, and there was an Island in the middle of about 8, 
maybe 12 machines, all playing Elite, and for the life of me I could have 
sworn they were playing each other, rather than the missions, having some 
sort of "last man standing" competition. It don't think it was the full 
game, just lanuch from the space station, and battle it out.

Anyone know if a network version of Elite actually existed, or did I have my 
Rose Coloured specs on that day...?
