Damn. Eight years too late. :-)

... I do wish companies wouldn't attach disclaimers larger than lesser
planetoids to outgoing emails, especially containing nonsense like "The
information contained in this E-Mail and any subsequent correspondence
is private and is intended solely for the intended recipient(s)." to a
message destined to a semi-public mailing list with an archive...
"Any response to this email indicates consent to this." Possibly legally
untenable - for how is "response" defined? A response could be to take
the email containing all the juicy insider information and plaster it
across a double-page spread in an appropriate trade magazine. Or you
could just hit the "Reply" button. Both are "responses", but are quite
different.
This is, of course, before you get into the quagmire of the one-way
agreement, especially one to which your ability to discuss the terms
would involve replying by which would imply to agree to said terms.
:-)
Don't call me sad because I tend to read "the small print". You can
sometimes find some amusing stuff buried in the pseudo-legalese. There
was one program, ages ago, I think an image map creator for 'doze, that
read like:
By installing this software you agree... blah blah blah blah blah
blah blah you will not fart in the bath any more blah blah blah blah
ROTFL.
Best wishes,
Rick.
