I seem to have caused a lot of offence here, without intending to.
I wasn't intentionally trying to annoy people, or stage a form of coup.
Regardless of the "Reply To" issue, I personally feel that having a mailing
list where the administrator hasn't contributed for over 2 years, and
doesn't respond to personal e-mail about the list is potentially risky in
other ways.
In that situation, there is always a possibility that the mailing list will
one day just cease to function, as the people hosting it have removed it
(assuming the administrator doesn't respond to them either)
Again, without the co-operation of the current administrator, any form of
organised migration will also be impossible, as that would require
involvement from them.
I don't personally care where or how the mailing list is hosted, but feel
that it should be owned by someone who is actively interested in the topic,
and who responds to queries from list members.
It may be that I'm doing James a huge dis-service, and that he's just been
on holiday while this issue has been discussed this time, but it has been
covered several times in the last year, without him commenting on any of
the discussions.
Regards and apologies
Michael
