Do your Ts&Cs prevent children from listing items? How about British 
law? By making people enter a DOB, if anybody should shout and scream 
later, you can easily reply "Your little brat is a liar, here's the DOB

Same reason the other sites I listed in another email do it:
   eBay - no kids thanks
   MySpace - I believe it has a distinction between "adult" and "child",
     though it really ought to have a "teenager" category as well, given
     that it _is_, er, MySpace! :-)
   YouTube - state your age to view stuff flagged as pervy, and as you're
     logged in, good ol' data-collecting Google will know exactly HOW
     pervy that is. <smirk>
