Some <cough> lesser </cough> operating systems use CRLF combinations,
and a lot of printers are set up to expect this.
It seems odd that you are getting everything on one line, as the Acorn
linebreak is
an &0A (LF) so you should
see text formatted oddly like
this!
Does your printer have a secret 'hex' mode (on your generation, probably
somewhere in the control UI) [older printers, try holding FF or ONLINE
while switching on]. This will allow you to see what is actually being
sent to the printer, to determine if it is best to tweak the printer, or
the computer. Do you need to print text from a PC as well?
[later] Oh, okay. You have no UI. Just a button and a couple of LEDs.
Mmm, don't hold down the button, it is for clearing the NVRAM partially
or totally.

It doesn't look like the 1150 will have DIP switches. ;-) I'm not even
sure if it is capable of hex mode! What software are you trying to use
to print? Can you try *CONFIGURE NOIGNORE followed by making the
linefeeds be CRLF (&0D &0A)? As it is a page printer, you may need to
stick an FF (&0C) at the end to get the thing to print (or print the
final page) without waiting for timeout.
Best wishes,
Rick.
