Don't matter if it's before or after, it's a universal setting.

*FX 6 sets the character to be ignored. You get interesting effects
with *FX 6,13. When printing graphics it's not a problem as you
would normally send characters directly to the printer stream with
VDU 1,n (after starting the print job with VDU 2).
