Subject: FileStore emulator 2010/07/24
Hi,

Test suite is not 100% comprehensive, but it is fairly complete and it
has picked up a number of things in the 65C102 core - some not so
important, and some show-stoppers. ;-)
As a result of this, the firmware now initialises and hangs up trying to
hit the floppy drive (which isn't emulated yet!). Don't leave it
running, the hardware trace log file gets really big really quickly.
I know I reported this before. It gets there correctly now. :-)
I guess, next, to fake up a floppy disc so we can see it complete its
startup.
I'm *not* looking forward to the ADLC emulation, because if I decide to
make it work like a server over TCP/IP, even if I directly port Rob's
code to VB [mmm, how does that work licence-wise? I plan to, when this
is finished, release it under the EUPL which *IS* compatible with GPL2,
but is GPL2 compatible with it? failing that, I could read his code to
see what he is doing, then roll my own (buggy!) implementation).
Whatever, the big problem is those oh-so-simple C macros and those cute
little functions with deceptive names like "htons". Thinking of doing
that in VB is like getting s**t upon from on high while saying "yeah,
yeah, give it to me baby" with an epic Tony Blair grin plastered to your
face... 8-)
Whatever, it's not a problem for tonight. Time for some anim?, then bed.
Best wishes,
Rick.
PS: First day of my (two-and-a-half-week-watch-the-days-fly) holiday.
Yay! [ and *this* is what I did all day, I'm *so* sad! :-/ ]
