Well technically the Dragon/CoCo1/CoCo2 CPUs are only 1MHz raited  
parts, most chip data sheets contain a statement like :

"Stresses above those listed under "Absolute Maximum Ratings" may  
cause permanent damage to the device"

So I guess that's why the warning :)

Having said that I've not found a 6809 that running fast killed, or  
for that mater a Dragon/CoCo that wouldn't work in fast mode....

Not the first time I've heard that one :)
Mind I believe right-angles, and specifically points are a big no-no  
in high voltage circuits as there is a much greater chance of arcing  
from sutch places.
