What, you mean like Hexabromocyclododecane (which is actually a 
sixteen-legged dinosaur - you don't hear about them much as they were 
clumsy things, managing little more than eating and farting; but they 
were actually really useful as their bulk and nature meant that were 
excellent at stopping forest fires, they'd just lean against a tree and 
act as a giant lumbersome flame retardant...).
