I agree that being able to check on email via a mobile device
is useful - but that's it: *checking* on email on the move. Not
actually being so masochistic as to actually try to *work*
that way.

I can't understand why this attitude is so widespread. I just
couldn't get people at Sheffield Council to understand that
just because I had a Blackberry didn't mean that I could
respond to their email as soon as the Blackberry knew about
it. I'll glance at the Blackberry and make a mental note
that there's a particular thinbg I need to do as soon as I
get to a desk and computer and the relevent other material
and contacts I need to respond. What do they want me to do?
Balance my shopping on the head of the bus passenger in
front of me and peck away at buttons while I try and guess
an answer instead of actually sitting down at a desk and
refering to real actual information in my office?
