You wanna kick that habit? Come to France. Pay-as-you-go GPRS is 15c for
10K. On a contract, it is around 8c/10K.
Yes, this means a megabyte (what a lot of you Brits measure GPRS in)
would cost me an appalling ?15.36 (or about half that on contract).
You learn pretty damn quickly to check for specific low-bandwidth
things. Look, for example, on my b.log and you'll see a "mail check"
script which fetches headers from my mailboxes (this list included) and
makes a list so I can choose which things to read. Thank God, also, that
OperaMini compresses its data. I can fit more in my pathetic little 10K
slice.

Funny you should mention that...
Actually, today at work one of the automatic doors was malfunctioning. I
wanted to open the control box to power-cycle it (which worked) but I
couldn't be bothered to find the odd -( )- sort of key it used, so I did
it with a fork handle.
