Two thoughts - firstly if you know that there is a liklihood of
off-topic messages on this list, plus I'm not sure it would count as
desperately important (enough to warrant being able to pick it up on a
phone on-the-go), you could always do BBC list stuff at home, and just
not have it on the mobile device.
Second thought - your client can't "fetch headers"?
