Subject: Reversing the Tube ULA

Hi all:
in regard of this first if the tape is still available perhaps this can be
useful for its restoration in general (how many years have passed and what
storage conditions):
[1] E. M. Kurtas and B. Vasic, Advanced Error Control Techniques for Data
Storage Systems. CRC Press, 2005.

however professionals (not me) as I have seen in some TV show program had
very special techniques to restore them, so it was a kind of unfordable (as
I recall I think they talked about hundred of thousands of U$)
I guess because of managing of the equipment needed.

As related to the topic of how much it cost a new Digital VTR of VHS, I
saw one Betacam VTR of 50k U$ in the Sony site, why it is that expensive,
well it perhaps has output for some HDI and so, maybe is the analog conversion
and recording capabilities are more advanced than older VHS analog like in
betacam case (see here: http://pro.sony.com/bbsc/ssr/cat-videorecorders/cat-recdigibetacam/
)

And as of the information itself in it there is this which seems to be a
good book on:
[2] Q. Wu, F. Merchant, and K. Castleman, Microscope Image Processing, 1st
ed. Academic Press, 2008.

Well, perhaps for the time of last productions of them of VHS VTR the book
was this:
[3] K. G. Ashar, Magnetic Disk Drive Technology: Heads, Media, Channel, Interfaces,
and Integration, 1st ed. Wiley-IEEE Press, 1996.

Perhaps if somebody knows or has a used copy of use would be useful if so.

Thanks for your time, hope helps a bit
