ISDN is still in mainstream use for Videoconferencing, and usual systems use
3 or 4 ISDN2e boxes giving 6 or 8 lines for 384k/512k connection. A lot of
clients now have PRI links, which are a single RJ45 connection capable of
having 30 concurrent connections of 64k at once - nice bandwidth, not so
nice on the bill if you have a 2 hour conference at 1920k to the other side
of the world!

IP is also used, but going via the public internet you can't guarantee a
bandwidth, so you get packet loss and the resulting artifacting on screen,
something you don't get with ISDN (when it's working properly!)

Mark.
