I did read in a document that the Econet Standard Committee set it at 512
bytes per packet, this was sometime around RiscIX. Damned if I can find the
reference again though. Memory tells me the Bridge is hardcoded to about 512
bytes. If we are talking about inter connectivity to Ethernet, we need to be
keeping the packet size below the Ethernet MTU to keep things simple and not
having to implement stupid size buffers.
