I deliberately worded that way to mean no English Kings ever been
on an English throne, a Scottish throne, an Irish throne, a Welsh
throne since the 11th century. English monarchs have been:
  pre-1066 : English
1066-14xx : Norman
14xx-1603 : Welsh
1603-1688 : Scottish
1688-1710 : Dutch
1710-     : German
