This still needs the cooperation of the M128 if you need to press break
you may not have that.

If the device on the other end of the serial port was more sophisticated
you could co-opt one of the other hand shake signals DTR/DSR etc with a
bit of extra messy wiring to remotely reset the M128. An opto coupler
might be the go.

I hacked MOS 1.2 for serial console (and a lot of other things to make
it run on very minimalist hardware) , and it worked well.  Its more
difficult to do that on a M128 since the OS isn't in its own ROM, I
think the sideways ROM suggestion the best way.
