It's a fair point, and despite it being a default feature of mailman -
I get them from other lists I'm on - I've disabled it...

Not sure if this disables it for existing subscribers, though - if you
are worried, go to:
 http://lists.mosthosts.net/mailman/options/beebsoc
and set "Get password reminder email for this list?" to "No".
