I tried Gareth Gabb's server a few years ago on my RiscPC. Total
failure, logins wouldn't, and so on. I'm not sure if the software has
succumbed to bit-rot, or if it just doesn't like the RiscPC.
I had, in the back of my mind, an idea to dig out ArcBBS or ARMbbs
(can't find my ARMbbs licence file, is the problem...) and run it on
something plugged into the Livebox.
Then I could have a go at resurrecting my old BBS at
heyrick.is-a-geek.net (IIRC, it's a dyndns one) which is set to
automatically point to my Livebox (but note, usually *no* servers
available). Problem is the energy consumption. If/when I change my
harddisc to be a CF, I'll look into this. I have the CF, so I'm halfway
there. ;-)
Best wishes,
Rick.
