Where a friend of mine used to work, the company use to sell off (for a
nominal sum) used electric drills and other power tools. That was until
someone was killed by being electrocuted by one of these items. From
then on, the power leads were cut off, and they were still sold for
a nominal sum but were described as "scrap power tools".
Don't know if that kept them legal, IANAL.
