The New Advanced User Guide says that the 32016 was originally designed
to use 8MHz chips with a 16MHz crystal, but shortages lead to them using
6MHz chips and a 12MHz crystal - which created the problem that the
32016 couldn't run fast enough to keep up with the ADFS low level disk
transfers, and a special version of ADFS had to be written!
But anyway, the final paragraph says that you can "replace the 6MHz
chipset with 8MHz or 10MHz chips and replce the 12MHz crystal witha
16MHz or 20MHz one", so that to me is saying a 10MHz chipset and 20MHz
crystal can jusy be dropped in - with the additional advantage that
standard ADFS will work with it, and probably also IDE ADFS.
