Subject: Modernisations
Hello,
Phil Blundell and John Kortink both commented on my claimed 0.2 second lag
using the RGB to VGA converter. While I can admit the figure was a little
taken out of the air, the lag was clearly noticable on a game such as Sonic
the Hedgehog on the Megadrive. While this is not a BBC Micro game,
techincally RGB from the Beeb won't travel faster than RGB from the Sega
console, will it? :-)
Like I wrote, your milage may vary and VGA output might actually be
tolerable, although John at Blipit wrote his solution gives a so-so image on
a good day. As the converter on eBay should handle CGA, I suppose it takes
TTL level inputs so that is not a factor to consider.
Anyway, at ?23 + shipping (probably possible to find even cheaper if you
order from Asia) it is not a lot of money to lose for anyone willing to try
it themselves.
Best regards
