Yes. It's ReTuLa. Its 2-byte mode actually works.

NFS is the only filing system that uses it, yes. But GoSDC uses it too
if TUBE is configured to 2 (it then splits transfers into 1/2/1-byte
blocks if needed). This works for all filing systems GoSDC knows.
