Thank you for your thoughts, all the power supply outputs are present and 
correct, at least with the power supply running by itself.
If they are still there under load remains to be seen.

Many "high power" functions not operating (spinning the disc, moving the 
tray...) seems like one of the supply voltages might be missing (perhaps the 
+12 V).
Just a thought, I never owned one of those...
