I can't remember the exact protocol, but yes, it is very simple.  It's a
serial stream which is enabled as long as your finger keeps moving
within the grid.

It worked remarkably well for such a coarse resolution.

I have the original Touchtech 501 disc which has programming information
and a set of PROCs and FNs to allow you to use it within your own
applications, as well as a set of programs for use in educational
institutions.  Can image it and stick up on website if desired.
